My 4 and 6 year old grandkids are having a ball with this digging sand and dirt. Much sturdier than I thought it would be yet light enough for them to move it all over the yard. Easy to put together too!

For a 3 year old. This is a great addition to the yard… light weight , easy to move , digs great

>Got this as a birthday present for my truck and construction equipment obsessed three year old son. HE LOVED IT.
>Solid metal (seat is plastic though). A bit awkward to assemble but only because you have one section where all the elements come together and it takes some dang amazing coordination to hold all the washers and nuts in place while you thread the bolt through it. Otherwise it takes no time to put together.
>Weirdly there were no holes in the bottom of the seat to put the screws through to secure to the overall contraption, so have something handy that will help you carve holes through hard plastic.
>If you have hardwood floors, don’t let your kid use this on them. My son opened this gift at his party inside and we put it together (inside), and he started going to town…on the hardwoods. Luckily we also have a carpet and moved it quickly to that and all was well until we could take it outside the next day. In the meantime, he scooped up toys 😉
>He’s scooped toys, gravel, mud, loose sand, leaves, you name it. Since it’s solid metal, it boils down to the ability and strength of the kid as to what they can scoop up – the scoop itself can dig through just about anything.
>Didn’t take him too long to figure it out either. I would say about 20 minutes of floundering and he had the moves down. He’s also able to drag it to wherever he wants to dig since it’s not too heavy, though it is awkward to pick up as the arm moves easily.
>Absolutely worth every penny and I’ve already sent this link to several friends who thought it was the coolest thing ever and wanted it for their kids. Buy it already.

This was smaller then I expected but it fits my almost 6 year old and also my 2 year old. We have it permanently set up in a rubber mulch cedar fort area so my kids are able to scoop up rubber mulch with it. It gets a decent amount of use considering there are other activities in the same area. So far it is not rusting and holding up to Florida heat and rain. While the digger has not tipped at all or been blown over during storms I do wish the bottom was made of a heavier metal. I also would have liked the seat to be bigger, wider and longer for my older child. I believe the seat size is more for a 2 or 3 year old, my 5 year old uses it just fine but it’s a small seat. It is still a nice toy for a child who likes to dig

Replace the screw and bolt with a locking bolt so it won’t loosen and fall off. After doing that, this has been the best toy I’ve ever bought! We put it in our wagon and take it to the neighborhood park to dig in the wood chips. Then we bring it home and dig in the sand box! We’ve had it for 3 months now and my son plays with it everyday.

Bought two for my 3 year old and 2 year old. Perfect size for them & easy for them to use. They can dig in our sand box all day! Quick and easy assembly.
